Formerly (Rinjani) name Samalas, erupted 13th century ago, has vast caldera. Grew in the middle there is an active cone there. It's called Mount Barujari



Mount Rinjani with a height of 3,726 meters above sea level, dominating the vast majority of the island of Lombok. Located on the east side of the island of Bali, can be reached by a direct bus from Jakarta to Mataram by using the ferry crossing twice (the straits of Bali and Lombok Strait). Can also be reached by plane from Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali.
